Holiday Bid-nass

Last week we went home to K-Town (that's Kearney, try to keep up) to celebrate Thanksgiving... I think. The week and following weekend passed in a blur, it's all a mess in my head. Here are some high (and low) lights from the trip home:

1. Bad: We not only had both kids in tow (and oh how they love to be in the car for 5 hours), but also a cat. After taking in Phil, a local stray, we desperately needed to get him declawed, and seeing as how it was literally 1/2 as much back home as here in KC, we took him back with us and got that taken care of.

2. Badder: Said cat got car sick.

3. Seriously?: Said declaw procedure for said cat ended up costing twice as much as we were quoted, making it worthless to take him back in the first place.

4. Bad: Joel and I both forgot our coats. For anyone who's unfamiliar with November in Nebraska, that was a bad idea.

5. Good: We missed the first snow storm here in KC.

6. Bad: Jericho became sick while we were home.

7. Still Bad: Joel became sick while we were home.

8. Will the badness ever stop?: Jen became sick on the way back and for the rest of that day.

9. Good: Joci steered clear of the sickness.

10. Phenomenal: We endured 4am shopping post-Turkey Day for the second year in a row. No one was injured and we got some great deals.

11. Impossible: We managed to see both families (including my grandparents) in one trip.

12. Good: I got to spend some q.t. with my newest nephew. PS - Too cute.

13. Strange: Joel and I didn't get in a fight. Not once.

14. Bad: Post-trip laundry.

15. Funny, but not if you're the cat: Said cat was on hallucinogens following said procedure.

16. Good: Turkey. And ensuing nap.

17. Better: Taco Johns and Runza. Always the highlights of our trips home.

18. Bizarre: Jericho woke up one day with a huge black bruise on the side of his face.

Everyone lived and is healed up for the most part. Aside from Jericho's face, that is. We still have no idea where the mystery bruise came from. But truth be told, we rarely know the origin of his battle wounds.

Hope everyone had a great holiday.
Much love,
The (battered, bruised, sickly, sleepy and stuffed) Blechas

U R hilarious. Aren't those trips fun where you realize halfway home that your life might never be the same as it was before you left?

I'd have left the cat at the vet's office. Seriously. No...wait...I'd have never let it in my house in the first place...
