Litttle Ears

My, my, my... it's amazing what children pick up.

Jocelyn has always been quite the little mommy, and apparently her mothering-style is a little less "sugar-and-spice" and a little more "take-no-crap-from-nobody".

Mr. Jericho was having quite the day yesterday and Jocelyn was apparently having no part of it, because I very clearly heard her tell him "I'm about tired of this little attitude" and that he was "really starting to stress her out".

Hmmm... must have gotten that from her father.

Long Time, No See

Not really sure if anyone is still checking this thing that used to be a blog. But here goes nothing.

Here's the story with the lack of updates - We were never using our Internet at home, so we disconnected it. I, however, have since started a new job and actually have more things to do during the day than sit around blogging all day. I know. Real jobs. They're overrated.

It's been around 2 months, so here we go...

I started a job staffing for Kelly Services in September. It's great - a lot closer to home and has benefits, unlike the last job I had with the ad agency, where I was on contract. I'm sure I don't have to tell you, though, how bad the economy is right now. Lots of people looking for jobs, not too many jobs. But the people looking - that's what keeps me busy. I have also discovered a new love for Husker football this year, so that kept us busy through the fall... at least on Saturdays.

Joel is still FedEx-ing away. Still traveling, though not as much as he was in the beginning. We are enjoying actually having him at home every once in a while.

Jericho... oh sweet baby Jericho. Well, little Hurricane Jericho will be 3 already next month. I can't believe it. He's turning into such a little man. He has such a big personality... and can throw such big fits. (We're working on it.) He has been potty training, and almost has it licked - during the day, at least. It's partially my fault that it's taken this long - his mommy was in no hurry to not have a baby anymore. I actually don't mind the diapers. I knew that once he could use the big potty, he would be a big boy and I'd have no more babies. Oh, well. I suppose he should probably be potty trained before he starts school...

Jocelyn is turning 7 this weekend. This one is hitting me hard. Seven seems like such a big number. I feel like she was Jericho's age yesterday. She's having her first slumber party tomorrow. Pray for us. She is still loving school and involved in Girl Scouts. This year she has also started taking gymnastics. I don't think she's a "natural" by any means (still can't seem to lick that cartwheel), but she enjoys it none the less. She has also been taking bible study every weekend and has done pretty good at that. They made her memorize all the books in the New Testament a few weeks back... that seemed like a lot to me. I helped her study and still don't know half of them.

Well, that's about it for the Blecha's. No pictures this time - our digital camera broke a while back. :( I'm at a loss without it. Maybe I should write a letter to Santa this year...

Hope you're all doing well.
Much love and God bless,
Jx4

Momma's little angels

Jocelyn is getting so big... I can't believe she's 6 already.

Little Miss started 1st Grade 2 weeks ago. She goes all day now - Kindergarten was only a half day - and thinks she's so big now because she get 2 recesses and gets to eat lunch in the cafeteria. She's obviously really tuned in to what's important in life. She does well in school and really enjoys it. She's one of the only kids I know who couldn't wait for school to start.

Next week, Joci starts Girl Scouts and gymnastics, which is a new activity for her this year. She can't wait to wear her new leotard. Two weeks ago she started Awanas (bible study) and she really enjoys it. She had 3 weeks to learn her first bible verse and learned it in 1! We were so proud.

Jericho is growing like a weed, too. He talks a ton and is always informing us as to what he will and will not be doing. For instance, sometimes he'll say "I take a baf" and run upstairs to the bathroom. Other times, we'll tell him it's bed time and he'll simply inform us "no". It's clear who wears the pants in this family.

We're so blessed with such wonderful children. They keep us on our toes and always keep life interesting, that's for sure.

Survivor: Family Picture Edition

I now know why, with Joci being 6 and Jericho already in this world for 2 1/2 years, we have not yet had family pictures taken.

First, after confirming the appointment and making sure that we didn't need to show up early for anything, we arrived for our 11 am appointment at 10:55 am. Then, we sat there for 30 minutes. And by "we", I mean all of us - including Mr. Sunshine himself, Jericho James. Now, he was pretty good for the majority of the time, but after 30 minutes, even I needed a time-out. Needless to say, Jericho used up all of his well-behaved energy in the waiting room and it was all used up by the time we actually got our pictures taken.

Happily enough, we managed to get one picture of each of the kids, and one of the whole family. Anything on top of that was gravy.

Enjoy.

A+B=C

Last night Joci and I were out getting groceries and I said something about having to get home so that we could make dinner. Then Jocelyn gets this real serious look on her face and says to me "If we don't get home, we can't eat dinner, and if we don't eat dinner, we'll die, because you have to eat to live. ... I guess we'd better get home."

I suppose you're right, Jocelyn.

Happy Anniversary... to me.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! Technically, it's tomorrow, but I had a second and decided I'd better do this now.

Three years ago (tomorrow) we walked down the aisle of the Hall County Courthouse and declared our love for one another. I like to think of us as proof that it's not about the wedding - it's about the marriage.

I love you, dearly, my handsome husband and I am so very proud of you. I have truly found a great spouse, friend and partner in you. Thank you for being such a great person and wonderful daddy to our beautiful babies. God has truly blessed our lives.

Ouch.

This, my friends is soon to be the newest member our family.

Jocelyn is getting this little beauty installed on Thursday. Incase you haven't seen a picture of Jocelyn's teeth lately, they're dedinitely in need of some TLC. She started losing teeth last year and ever since she lost that first one, they just won't stop falling out. Which also means they're growing in at breakneck speed. Her dentist says she has a lot of teeth coming into a very small mouth. This apparatus is called a palatal expander and is supposed to expand her palate to make room for all those teeth, and hopefully reduce or eliminate the need for braces in the future.

I'm sure all will be fine, but it sure does sound painful to me. Prayers for a painless proceedure for our little lady.
